"Remission of sins" is tied to Christ's blood (Mat 26:28; Rom 3:25), baptism (Mark 1:3; Luke 3:3; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:15) Christ's name (Luke 24:47; Acts 10:43). Do a word search of the Bible, searching for the phrase "remission of sins".
Jesus Christ's shed blood at Calvary paid for the remission of our sins. We accept the remission of our sins by genuinely joining our self to Jesus Christ. Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, genuinely repenting, totally giving our self to him, and being baptized in the name of "Jesus Christ" for the remission of sins , are all parts of giving/joining our self to Jesus Christ.
Remission of our sins is more than forgiving our sins; it takes us to receiving the Spirit of God, who leads us out of sinning.
